Birds Of Tokyo Biography
The Alternative-Rock combo Birds Of Tokyo started in July 2004 in Perth, AUSTRALIA, comprised of vocalist Ian Kenny, guitarist Adam Spark, bass player Anthony Jackson and drummer Adam Weston.
After a couple of EPs, the band released the full-length album "Day One" in early 2007. It was also around this time that they added keyboardist Glenn Sarangapany.
Less than two years later and a sold out a national headline tour, Birds Of Tokyo put out their sophomore album, "Universes" which independently recorded and produced in Australia by the band, climbed into the top 3 of the ARIA chart.
The self-titled and third studio album was recorded in Sydney, New York City, London and Göteborg. It took them back into the top 3 of the Australian chart after its July 2010 release.
In March 2013 Birds Of Tokyo unleashed "March Fires", the band's first album to feature new bassist Ian Berney who replaced Jackson in 2011. The CD hit #1 on the ARIA sales chart and includes the breathtaking hit single "Lanterns".
