Black Veil Brides Biography
The Alternative-Metal band Black Veil Brides, formerly Brides, fronted by vocalist + keyboardist Andy 'Six' Biersack, began in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. He played with a revolving door line-up of musicians for three years until the permanent addition of lead guitarist Jake Pitts, rhythm guitarist + violinist Jeremy 'Jinxx' Ferguson, bassist Ashley Purdy and drummer Sandra Alvarenga.
The quintet signed with the independent label StandBy Records who released
their first album, "We Stitch These Wounds", in July 2010. It
made a strong debut at #1 on the Top Independent Albums chart and also
reached the #36 position on The Billboard 200.
Later that year the band captured the attention of Lava Records who signed them to release their next album, Alvarenga then left the fold and was replaced by drummer Christian 'CC' Coma.
Black Veil Brides' sophomore effort arrived in June 2011 going straight into the top 20 of the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums chart, while the main single "The Legacy" was embraced by Active Rock radio stations across the country, eventually reaching the #29 spot. It was followed by another Hot Mainstream Rock top 40 hit, "Fallen Angels".
In January 2013 the California-based theatrical rockers released their new album, "Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones"; it peaked at #7 on The Billboard 200 and #11 on the Top Canadian Albums lists. The set's first single, "In the End", rocketed to the #12 spot on The Active Rock chart.
