Daft Punk Biography
The prog-Electronica act Daft Punk was formed by two DJs Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter in Paris, FRANCE. They first met in 1987 while attending lycée and were in one of those typical failed bands from high school that didn't achieve any significant success.
In early 1997 Daft Punk put out its debut album, "Homework", that changed the face of dance music. It climbed into the top 3 in France, hit the top 10 in U.K. and reached #150 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
The French duo returned in March 2001 with their sophomore album, "Discovery", which nearly broke them into the top 40 of The Billboard 200 in U.S. and peaked at #2 on the Official U.K. Albums chart.
The Gallic pranksters' third studio record, "Human After All", arrived in March 2005.
In May 2013 Daft Punk put out "Random Access Memories", their first proper studio album in eight years. It contains the worldwide #1 smash "Get Lucky" featuring Pharrell Williams on vocals and legendary Disco producer + guitarist Nile Rodgers. Also "Random Access Memories" hit the top position of the charts in all the countries.
