Hailing from Los Angeles, California USA, the Alternative-Rock outfit Grouplove officially formed in 2009. New York's singer + keyboardist Hannah Hooper and fellow resident vocalist + guitarist Christian Zucconi, met the members of their future band a year before it was created; born and bred in London, Sean Gadd became the bass player and two L.A. musicians, lead guitarist Andrew Wessen and drummer Ryan Rabin, completed the line-up.
Before the release of the band's 2010 self-titled EP, the quintetet criss-crossed the states opening for Florence + The Machine and The Joy Formidable.
In September 2011 Grouplove released its first full-length disc, "Never Trust A Happy Song", which reached #75 on The Billboard 200. The first single, "Colours", peaked at #15 The Hot Modern Rock chart, but it was the follow-up, "Tongue Tied", that elevate them to the next level, this single spent 43 weeks on The Alternative Songs chart peaking at #1 in June 2012, it also crawled up to #3 on The Rock Songs list. "Itchin' On A Photograph", which hit #10 on The Alternative Songs chart, was the final single pulled from the album.
Grouplove issued their second studio effort, "Spreading Rumours", in September 2013 and the first single, "Ways To Go", hit #3 on The Alternative Songs chart while the CD peaked at #21 on The Billboard 200.
