Ill Niño Biography

New Jersey USA-based NuMetal-crew Ill Niño is a bilingual hybrid that has discovered an innovative blend between Hispanic flavors and Metal styles. The band was formed in late 1999 by vocalist Cristian Machado, guitarists Marc Rizzo and Jardel Paisante, bassist Lazaro Pina, drummer Dave Chavarri and percussionist Roger Vasquez.

The six-piece group quickly recorded a self-titled 7-song indie-EP that showcased an incendiary mix of aggressive Rock and unconventional power Latin-Metal with alternate English and Spanish language lyrics.
The record caught the attention of Roadrunner Records who signed them and released their debut full-length disc, "Revolution Revolución", in July 2001; the sextet toured throughout America and Europe with the likes of P.O.D., Drowning Pool and Static-X; eventually the album went on to sell nearly 350,000 units worldwide spawning a couple of minor hit singles in "What Comes Around" and "Unreal".

During the pre-production for the band's sophomore release, both Vasquez and Rizzo left the group, the latter to join Max Cavalera's Soulfly, they were replaced by guitarist Ahrue Luster and percussionist Danny Couto. In September 2003 "Confession" was completed and crashed into the top 40 of The Billboard 200 chart, led by "How Can I Live" which peaked at #26 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks; the second single, "This Time's For Real", reached #36 on the same chart.

In September 2005 Ill Niño returned with "One Nation Underground", which reached the #101 position on The Billboard 200 Albums chart; it contained the Mainstream Rock top 40 hit "What You Deserve".
Following this release, Paisante left the band and was replaced by new rhythm guitarist Diego Verduzco.

The band's first release on Cement Shoes Records, "The Undercover Sessions" EP, came out in November 2006; the set was just a taste of what would be their fourth full-length studio record, "Enigma". Preceded by the single "Alibi Of Tyrants", the album, released in March 2008, failed to make it past #145 on The Billboard 200.

In October 2010, Ill Niño delivered "Dead New World", the Latin-flavored sextet's first album for Victory Records just squeaked into the official U.S. Sales chart; it included the single "Against The Wall".

Featuring the single "The Depression", the sixth full-length album from New Jersey/New York's metallers, "Epidemia", was releases in October 2012.
