Adelitas Way Biography
This Alternative-Rock band was first formed in Las Vegas, Nevada USA, in 2005 by lead singer + songwriter Rick DeJesus, lead guitarist Chris Iorio, bassist Chris Clemence and drummer Jon Logan, but underwent several changes in line-up before finally settling with DeJesus, Iorio, second guitarist Keith Wallen, fellow bass player Derek Johnston and new drummer Trevor Stafford.
Without any album up, Adelitas Way, named after a brothel in Tijuana's
Zona Norte, had the opportunity to open for the likes of Chris
Cornell, Hinder, Tantric,
Years and Saliva.
The band's debut self-titled CD was released in July 2009 on Virgin/EMI Music; "Invincible", the first single off the disc, stormed the radio stations throughout the country, breaking the top 25 of the Billboard's Rock Songs chart. The follow-up single, "Last Stand" became an Active Rock top 40 hit.
In November 2009 Iorio parted ways with the band, he was briefly replaced by guitarist Creighton Bibbs before Robert Zakaryan took over the lead guitar spot.
In June 2011 Adelitas Way released their second album, entitled "Home School
Valedictorian", which debuted at #66 on The Billboard 200. Loaded with heavy guitar riffs layered under the intense unrivaled sound of DeJesus' lead vocals, the two first singles, "Sick" and "The Collapse", grazed the upper reaches of the Active Rock chart, peaking at #11 and #16, respectively, on the Billboard's Rock Songs list.
During 2013 Wallen and Johnston both left the band.
In March 2014 Adelitas Way premiered a short teaser for their new song, "Dog On A Leash". The track is the first single off their upcoming new album, which has yet to have a title assigned.
