deadmau5 Biography

The globally-renowned electronic artist deadmau5, was born Joel Zimmerman on January 5, 1981, in Toronto, CANADA. He is immediately recognizable by an oversized, illuminated mouse-head mask.

In 2008 deadmau5 won a Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year and soon after he released a full-length disc, "Random Album Title", which cracked the U.K. Top 40 Albums chart.

One year later followed "For Lack Of A Better Name", but it was in 2010 when was released "4×4=12" that he established himself at the forefront of the progressive House movement; the album hit the top 10 in U.K. and his native Canada, additionally, the disc reached the #47 position on The Billboard Top 200 chart.

Following his performance with Foo Fighters at the 2012 Grammy Awards where they showcased his intriguing remix of "Rope", deadmau5 continued his collaborations in the Rock world by enlisting the vocal talents of Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance for the Alternative Top 30 hit single "Professional Griefers" which was included in his fourth offering, ">Album Title Goes Here<". This record crested at #6 on The Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top Canadian Albums charts.
