Man Man Biography
Indie experimental Rock outfit Man Man formed in 2003 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, by lead singer + keyboardist & songwriter Honus Honus, real name Ryan Kattner and three other members: guitarist Steven Dufala, bass player Clint Killingsworth and drummer Tiberius Lyn.
In the fall of 2004 the quartet put out their first album, "The Man In A Blue Turban With A Face", on Ace Fu Records.
The sophomore release, 2006's "Six Demon Bag", was the first to feature new drummer + songwriter Christopher Powell -- AKA Pow Pow --.
It was in 2007 that the band began to get some wider appeal when they went on tour opening for Modest Mouse, Cat Power and Arcade Fire.
The line-up changed again and the members of the band all went by pseudonyms: frontman Honus Honus and Pow Pow were joined by multi-instrumentalists Brown Sugar, real name Adam Schatz and Shono Murphy real name Bryan Murphy. In the srpring of 2008 was released Man Man's third album and the group's first for Anti-, "Rabbit Habits", which debuted at #186 on The Billboard 200 list.
Expanding to a five-piece coalition with the addition of Jamey 'T. Moth' Robinson, the Philly's alt-Rock band issued "Life Fantastic" in May 2011.
Man Man returned two and a half years later with their fifth offering, "On Oni Pond". The disc contains their first Alternative Rock top 40 hit single: "Head On".
