Rival Sons Biography
The raucous, maximum-blues-infused, modern Hard-Rock band, Rival Sons began in 2008 in Los Angeles, California USA, with Jay Buchanan on vocals, Scott Holiday on guitar, Robin Everhart on bass and Mike Miley on drums.
From a self-released album, 2009's "Before The Fire" and a self-titled EP, to the strength of their live performances, the band underwent a feverish touring schedule, including a stint opening for legends like AC/DC and Alice Cooper.
In June 2011 Rival Sons released their sophomore full-length disc, "Pressure & Time" on Earache Records, it peaked at #19 on the Billboard's Top Heatseekers and also charted in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, U.K. and beyond.
The Southern California rockers recorded their next album in Nashville and followed the September 2012 release by a 14 date U.K. tour with Black Stone Cherry, the album then climbed into the top 40 of the British chart, while in North America the first single, "Keep On Swinging", grazed the Active Rock airplay list with a peak of #1 in Canada. The album contained another Canadian Rock radio top 5 smash: "Until The Sun Comes".
Rival Sons are set to unleash their fourth outing, "Great Western Valkyrie". The LP mark a change for the band, in the time between albums, original bassist Robin Everhart left the group, but longtime friend Dave Beste joined Rival Sons before they returned to the studio. The 10-song set will arrive on June 10, 2014, via Earache Records.
