Two Door Cinema Club Biography

The Alternative Electro-Pop trio Two Door Cinema Club began making noise in 2007 in Bangor, NORTHERN IRELAND. Comprised of singer + guitarist & programmer Alex Trimble, guitarist Sam Halliday and bassist Kev Baird, the group initially bonded over a love of Scots rockers Biffy Clyro, formed an emo-styled Rock band with a drummer, but he left shortly afterwards and the remaining three issued a 5-song EP on Kitsuné Music label in early 2009.

Two Door Cinema Club's first full-length album, "Tourist History", arrived in March 2010 going straight into the top 20 of the Irish chart. The set also inched into the top 40 of both the U.K. Sales chart and the U.S. Independent Albums list spawning the Alternative Rock radio hit "What You Know".

In early 2012 the group travelled to Los Angeles to cut their sophomore album, the result was a bold statement of intent an ambitious and heartfelt selection of tunes, showcasing a fluent sense of songwriting and a broader, more mature sound. Released in September the disc, titled "Beacon", debuted at #1 in Ireland, #2 in U.K. and at #4 in Australia; in America it peaked at #17 on The Billboard 200 Albums listing and the main single, "Sleep Alone", shot quickly up the charts to a #19 peak in the Alternative Rock radio format.

September 2013 saw Two Door Cinema Club put out a new 4-song EP called "Changing Of The Seasons".
